Total experience of 36 years in eminent position as Regulator; Environment Consultant; Researcher; and Trainer:
Administrator in Forest and Environment Department of Gujarat, India with over 19 years as Regulator.
Researcher in Environment, Forests, Climate Change, Wildlife, Sciences and Engineering for 11 years.
Trainer in Forest, Environment, Wildlife, Climate Change and Pollution Control – Trained over 10,000 personnel.
Is/was EIA Coordinator (EC) and Functional Area Expert (FAE) in sectors of Environment for over 2 years.
Functions Performed:
Conducting Ecological/ Wildlife Surveys and Preparation of status report for rare, endangered and threatened animals and plants species and providing guidance & support for conservation including their habitats.
Management of municipal solid wastes including methodologies for its segregation, collection and utilization.
Assisting different types of industries for running Effluent Treatment Plants, Air Pollution, Hazardous Waste and Biomedical Waste Facilities. Checking their adequacy and efficacy including practices/technologies adopted.
Institution building:
Instrumental in creating Gujarat Environment Management Institute (GEMI) from scratch to a prominent Institute in the field of Research, Training & Management and also setting up a Snake Research Institute in 2020. Former has State of the Art Laboratory recognized under relevant laws with various accreditations viz. NABL, ISO 9 & 14K and OHSAS 45 K; while latter caters to biological research on four venomous snakes (namely Cobra, Common Krait, Russell’s viper, Saw Scaled Viper), leading to production of Anti Venom Drug.
Dr. Madhu Anand, currently serving as a Manager (R&D) at GSRC, brings with her 16 years of extensive research experience across multiple esteemed institutions. She earned her Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Toxicology Research, Lucknow (CSIR), and subsequently pursued two Post-Doctoral Fellowships (Dr. D. S. Kothari & UGC Women Scientist) at Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar University, Agra. With a specialization in toxicology, Dr. Anand’s research focuses on exploring separation and extraction methods for toxic and essential metals, polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons, and Pesticides. Her scholarly contributions include 30 research publications and 4 book chapters. Moreover, she has showcased her research findings at 25 national and international conferences, both within India and overseas. Additionally, Dr. Anand has actively engaged with the Council of Science and Technology-Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow, and has provided peer review services for various esteemed international journals.
Dattapriy Pathak is a skilled mechanical engineer with a Master degree from Deakin University, Australia. With over three years of diverse experience in the mechanical and testing industry, Dattapriy has developed a strong foundation in problem-solving and analytical thinking. Currently serving as the Manager of Allied (Mining) at GSRC, he is dedicated to addressing real-world challenges in the mining sector. His interest lies in identifying root causes of technical issues and providing actionable solutions that contribute to operational efficiency and societal betterment. Dattapriy is passionate about leveraging his knowledge and experience to drive innovation and improve practices within the industry, ensuring a sustainable and positive impact on the community.
Mr. U. Vishwanath is a mineral industry veteran with more than 40 years’ experience in the mineral industry with in-depth knowledge of ore to metal cycle of base metals, precious metals and critical minerals. He has served in HZL (Vedanta) for more than 32 years serving in as Director R&D. He was awarded Life time achievement award by Indian Mining and Engineering Journal for his contributions to mineral industry. His last assignment was as Advisor (Metals) GMDC driving new projects in Base metals, Fluorite, Manganese etc. and techno commercial evaluation of new mineral properties being auctioned by Ministry of Mines. Currently he is working as Director (Technical) GSRC driving R&D projects.
